Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
iyulab ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use Forge Tools desktop applications ("Software").
Core principle: Forge Tools is a local-only desktop application. Your project data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use server-side features (PAYG, future).
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Project files and content — All project data you create or process — documents, analysis data, video files, reports, and exports — remains entirely on your local machine.
- Personal identification — We do not require or collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information to use the Software.
- Usage content — We do not collect, view, or analyze the content you create or process with the Software.
3. Data We Collect
3.1 Essential Telemetry (Collected Automatically)
To maintain software quality and fix critical bugs, we automatically collect the following minimal data via Azure Application Insights:

This data is collected as stated in our Terms of Service and does not require separate consent. It contains no personally identifiable information and no project content.
3.2 Optional Telemetry (Requires Your Consent)
With your explicit consent, we may additionally collect:

You are prompted for consent on first launch. You may change your preference at any time via Settings > Telemetry within the application. Revoking consent immediately stops optional data collection.
3.3 License Activation
License activation is performed entirely on your device using cryptographic validation (ED25519 digital signatures). No internet connection is required, and no data is transmitted to any server during the activation process.
The license file stored on your device contains only:
- License key
- Hardware fingerprint (a hashed, non-reversible device identifier)
No project data, file content, or personal information is involved in the activation process.
3.4 PAYG Services (Future)
When PAYG features become available, using them will require sending input data to iyulab's computing servers for processing (e.g., LLM inference, AI-assisted analysis). This data is:
- Processed solely to return results to you
- Not stored beyond the duration of the request
- Not used for training, analytics, or any other purpose
4. Offline Operation
The Software works fully offline. If no internet connection is available:
- All application features function normally
- License activation works offline (cryptographic validation is performed locally)
- Telemetry data is simply not transmitted — no data is queued or sent later
You may use the Software on air-gapped networks and restricted corporate intranets without any limitation.
5. Data Storage and Security
Essential and optional telemetry data is stored in Azure Application Insights (Microsoft Azure), hosted in a region compliant with applicable data protection regulations. Data is retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted.
License activation is performed locally and does not generate server-side records. iyulab maintains a license issuance database for key management purposes only.

7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Opt out of optional telemetry at any time via Settings
- Request deletion of your license issuance records by contacting us
- Use the Software offline without transmitting any data
8. Children's Privacy
The Software is not directed to individuals under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Software or on the Forge Tools website. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
